Where Is It?

Where is it iconTo the north of Walton-on-Thames the river roads offer a tranquil and relaxing environment with access to the banks of the River Thames taking full advantage of the beautiful countryside. This area is popular due to the fact that there is easy access to the Town centre and the River Thames.

What Does It Feel Like?

What does it feel like iconThe area around the river offers various outdoor pursuits provided by the Rowing Club, which is open to anyone of any age, while more sedate activities include the Swan Sanctuary which cares for and rehabilitates sick and injured swans. Excellent walks and cycle routes can also be enjoyed along the River Thames and the tow path leading to Walton marina. This area of Walton on Thames also serves up a number of first-rate eateries, including riverside gastro pubs such as The Swan and The Anglers both set on the banks of the River Thames and serving home cooked menus all year round. Meanwhile, a short stroll up the road offers a choice of Italian, Thai and Chinese cuisine with many shops and a family butchers. Close to the river is the converted 19th century barn ‘The Riverhouse’ with its craft studio, gallery and cafe-bar.

The Housing?

housing iconThe Properties are mainly Victorian style cottages with character features, with quite a few with loft conversions and rear extensions. Popular roads are Dudley Road, Sunbury Lane, Annett Road and Cambridge Road, whilst areas such as Dunsmore Road and River Walk are also sought after locations offering quiet locations and a riverside lifestyle. There is also a range of superb housing in the area including Sullivan’s Reach with its delightful riverside park and the historic Mount Felix area with roads such as River Mount where many of the properties enjoy riverside views.

Getting Around?

Getting around iconThe river roads are a short walk to the town centre and the River Thames. The mainline station can be reached within a 20 to 30 minute walk which provides a fast link to Waterloo and is approximately 30 minute car journey to London Heathrow. There is a local bus service which takes you to neighbouring towns such as Hampton Court, East & West Molesey, Esher, Shepperton, Sunbury on Thames and Kingston upon Thames.

Schools iconWalton is well served by highly regarded schools, including Grovelands, Ashley Church of England Primary School, Cleves Primary School  and Cardinal Newman RC, together with some fine churches such as the historical St Mary’s and the more contemporary St Erconwald’s

Other school good schools in the area are Bell Farm Primary School, Walton Oak, Rydens Enterprise School, Thamesmead.

There are a selection of private schools : Westward, Danesfield, St George’s Junior School, St George’s College, Halliford Boys.
